ARO Piston Pump Accessories Fluid Regulators are used to control the pressure needed at the dispensing point of your pumping system. ARO offers "Downstream", "Backpressure" and "Remote" regulators. Downstream regulators should be used close to the dispensing point and control the fluid pressure beyond the regulator. Backpressure regulators control the fluid pressure before the regulator, keeping the pressure consistent in recirculating systems. Remote regulators use an air diaphragm to control fluid pressure in areas where the regulator cannot be easily adjusted. Follower plates are used on high viscosity materials to keep the material level and to help the pump hold its prime. Follower plates come in two basic types- Mounted & Down-Tube followers. "Mounted plates" are used in conjunction with a ram to keep the pump primed. "Drum-tube plates" use the weight of the plate to keep the material level.
